If you want to blow your mind with scrumptious flavor, try Terra Rosa. Beautiful R/R potato, great yields. Another good one for flavor and looks that you can get from an Alaskan grower is Magic Myrna. What didn't make my "for sure" list for next year was Jacqueline Lee. It didn't like conditions at my house and it has NO flavor. It may do better for you though.

Two that I'm not impressed by, at least in my soil and growing conditions, are Kennebec and German Butterball. Which is a shame, because Kennebec produces here like nothing else.

I also grew LaRatte fingerlings one year and they were very mediocre.

I am another who thinks Kennebec are a bit boring, and I have yet to find a red-skinned potato I really like the flavor of. One year I grew Caribe, a purple-skinned potato, and ended up deciding that it was probably grown more for the interesting color than for flavor.

Peter Wilcox (aka Purple Sun) is mighty tasty too, and full of vitamins and anti-oxidants. nhbabs, have you tried Durango for a good-flavored R/W?

I am in New Zealand now. There is a very good looking and common variety called Nadine, which is known in the trade as "Dumb Blonde"
