I've done 7-8 dates several years. A few times the last plantings were double cropped back in the same place as an early planting. It takes a lot of fertility to make corn happy on that second crop. Yours is a nice green indicating a good level of nitrogen. That's not many plants for pollination purposes but hopefully you will get a few good ears.

The first crop I did was the same size and I got around 30 good ears. But the thing that helped was that I did some hand pollination. So I'm hoping for the same amount or close to it.

I once replanted a second crop in the same spot on July 18th. I chose an early variety[ probably a mistake[. It grew very well but didn't ear up in the end.

I find that corn grows well here as long as it is planted no later than July 4th. My first 6 plantings have been excellent, but the 7th is not quite as vigorous. It is earing up now.

Those corns in the photo are looking good. Hope you have a great yield out of them at the end of season.

So far I have counted around 40 ears so hopefully with any luck I will have at least half or more good ears. A few of the silks are started to dry up, so I will soon see if they are full ears.

I love your garden set up. You are giving me ideas with my yard. BTW I am a big corn fan. Love corn.

My late corn is about to silk. Many ears with silk aren't useable. Only the top 1-3 ears make a useable size with well developed kernels.

The people claiming 4-5 ears per stalk are counting their chickens before they hatch.

@DragonFlyTx- Thank you. Next year I want to do a lot more veges, like Pumpkin, Cantaloupe, and watermelon. With those I will use a trellis, so I have more room to do other types of plants.

Well I just harvested 24 ears today and still have ears that I'll wait on picking.
