Double row of green beans

Has any one else done this? I look around at the fields of Soybeans and Corn in this area and I see this from time to time, so this fall I planted beans. I put them in with my Earthway planter. I put the rows on 3 foot centers and went down one side of the raised bed and moved over 4-6 inches and came back. I have two rows of beans in the space of one. The have looked awesome and are producing like crazy. I have picked them 4 times and every week I keep picking more! Is this due to the Fall weather or a planting practice?

I have four 25 foot rows times 2, so 200 row feet in 100 feet.

In another bed I have my final planting of beans. There are 5 20 feet rows time 2 for 200 row feet. I will start picking them next week. They are loaded with beans. I am expecting a bumper harvest! Also, the older rows are still producing too. So I could have over 400 row feet of beans to pick. Oops! Guess we will sell what we can and can or freeze the rest.

Any thoughts?

Jay
