Panty hose fruit and vine

I am going to put some panty hoses on my remaining fruit such as squash. Can I put it on the connecting vine all the way up by where the vine connects to the main vine? I will be tying it but being careful not to squeeze the vine. Does the connecting vine need the sun? Or is it ok to cover it with the panty hose? Thanks! Your answers are always appreciated :)!

You can wrap with some fine nylon tulle that won't s squeeze , depending how you wrap it.
