help identifying this pepper

Hi,

They sold me this plant as a cubanelle pepper plant but they look more like jalapeno peppers. Can somebody identify the type of pepper?

Also, I noticed some brown lines on the pepper. Do you know why is this happening?

Thanks

It's not a cubanelle. Shape is wrong, and cubanelles never are dark green. Could be a jalapeno. Taste it.

To me they almost look like a small pimento (which are sweet) because of the fatter stem end, rather than a jalapeno. But I could definitely be wrong. A taste will tell.

About the marks on the pepper, do a search here on "corking".

Thank you so much

I agree with Rodney "somewhat." The somewhat part is I think it IS a Jalapeno, just with some pod shape variation. Not to mention that there are oodles of Japapeno varieties that are short and squatty.

Agree about the corking also. One other reason why I think Jap. Japs are notorious for corking.
