| Hello everyone! I love your forum and it's been a big help this summer.
This is my first year growing and I am proud to say that I have 5 normal sized pumpkins fully orange. Everything was growing great until I noticed today that there appears to be raised bumps in the pumpkin flesh radiating out from the stem on 4 of them. These bumps are surrounded by slightly green pumpkin skin. Very sad they aren't picture pefect, but for now I'm more worried about if this is a disease. I have not been able to diagnose on my own. Do any of you have any suggestions what this might be? Next year I'm going to try for at least 1 big pumpkin, so for now I'm considering this effort "training". Thanks! |

| Thats just nature i believe, sometimes its not picture perfect, guarantee it will taste just as good though. Any slight imperfection in the skin will develop a scar as the pumpkin growns, thats what it looks like to me. |

| If the bumps are raised and hard, it may be warting (typical of the species) or scarring from a physical injury. Either way, not a real problem. If the spots are soft and sunken you do have a problem, though, and will need to cook the pumpkins and store the flesh in the freezer. |
