I grew kidney beans and navy beans this year. Now that the beans have dried there are black spots all over the pods (it is humid here and foggy most mornings). When I open the pods the beans look fine, with no discoloration. Is this normal, and are they safe to eat? Thanks,

Normal, safe to eat and not a problem. Even if the beans have some discoloration, same thing. Just my opinion of course, but i've been growing dry beans for 20 years now....

Great, that was exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks for the response.

I agree, not a problem, IME. BTW, I find pole varieties on fencing is a much easier and better way to raise dry beans than bush cultivars.
