| Welp, I don't know for sure if its viable, as God only knows what these people do to their corn before it gets shipped off to big grocery chains (could be 10 year old surplus corn for all I know), but my grocery store had some very pretty indian corn today.
Got a red one that looks to me like bloody butcher, and one ear that I don't really recognize. Its variegated in almost metallic shades of gold, bronze, and copper. They're yellow, brown, and red kernels, but very shiny. Least I don't have to worry about hybrid corn, the kernels themselves would be off if that were the case, just hope they germinate next year. |
Follow-Up Postings:

| I actually have a small patch of dent corn, but for what I want to do in another thread, it is not tall enough. |

| Most likely they will germinate and do well Edy. I have planted grocery store, "Indian" corn, before and it grew out the same as the original. |
