Follow-Up Postings:

| Looks like normal silvering of the leaves. That said, it's a wee bit late in the season to expect to harvest any pumpkins. |
| True, it's just a test planting for next year. All my pumpkin plants had powdery mildew and then shriveled and died, possibly also from squash vine borers. |
| They become very large plants which require lots of water. Mulch will help conserve what's applied. |
| Next year I may plant after Father's Day to avoid the Squash Borers. |
| I tried that this year! got lots of flowers never got any squash. and I still had bores. but I did get pumpkins! I really don't know about next year. the only squash I got was from the farmers market. |
| BTW, what is silvering? Is it bad? Should I buy hair dye for my pumpkin leaves? And wrinkle cream? |

| Silvering is just a silvery-colored pattern that appears on the leaf veins of some types/varieties of squash (as you can see in your pic). It's a natural leaf variation. You see it a lot on zucchini. Rodney |

| Sneed, my DH is a wood carver and the finish they use for their furniture is a "Silvery Weathered" finish. Kind of like our hair! ;) Nancy |
