How long until garlic clove grows?

Posted by uscjusto CA 9 (My Page) on

I just planted a few garlic cloves into my raised bed about 3" deep.

The temperature is around 80F this week.

How long until the cloves sprout up above the soil? I'm dying to know if my planted cloves worked.

I would say 10 days to 14 days.

I just planted some organic garlic from the store 2 weeks ago, they're already up 3-4 inches. We're having a warm fall so far.

usc just give them time. Garlic grows faster in cooler temperatures. I'm in Mi. in the 40's & 50's and mine are sprouting.

Garlics , just like most bulbs, love cool soil and air. That is why they will overwinter with no problem.

Here is a picture of my garlic patch about mid Feb, few years ago.
