| It looks like a lily shoot. Can you give us any more information? Where was this vegetable being eaten or sold? |

| I have eaten it several days ago in France (paris). I guess it was meant as a starter bit I am not sure. Also, in my case, the colour was brown, not yellow. This is just a picturw from the internet that looked similar. |

| Oh - in that case I think you were probably eating artichokes in Paris, not lily shoots. I did not realise this was not a picture of the actual vegetable. Was it served cold in a vinaigrette? |

| Not just endive (a forced chicory), but also red endive, or puntarelle (all forced chicories). |
