That's great, Catherine. I know the feeling, we have some years like that too. Feels great to be able to get it done the way you want to and there is no underestimating how much better it is to start spring off on the right foot!

We are on track with the vegetable beds and I grew cover crop this year in two of my new beds. I just finished cutting it all up and digging some of it in and using some of it as mulch mixed in with a lot of old grass clippings we'd been saving and leaves that are falling. We used up the yard waste paper bags under all that too. Have had kitchen scraps that I'm burying in the beds.

We just took down two of our trellises and found we didn't have room for them in the garage, so now they have to wait for us to clear a spot for them.

This weather has been wonderful!! It gives you a real lift. Saturday was rainy and damp but Sunday was gorgeous. I enjoy this time of year for working in the garden.

I still have some spinach, lettuce, and Kale growing and I haven't pulled all the tomatoes yet. So we still have some work ahead to ready a couple more beds for spring.

Lettuce and Bok Choi are just wonderful and abundant this fall. I've got most of the garden cleared and waiting for the leaves to fall and be mulched up, but I want to keep those two crops going as long as I can.

Which is why, in hope of which, I always plant the fall stuff on the end of the garden.

Our temps are supposed to (finally) drop out of the 80s!
I still have to put several beds to rest. I keep a couple with radish and greens etc, but compost and cover several and try to clean up the weeds, which kinda got out of control this year! Nancy

About 50% of our veggie gardens are now at rest though there are still a few sickly tomato and eggplants hanging on. The other 50% is now fall crops. If winter doesn't come on too strong or too quickly here we'll have some nice broc, cabb, peas, asst greens and root crops going until Dec, ending with carrots into Feb. Just have to keep one step ahead of the deer.
