Have you ever grown and sold luffa gourds? I googled it. I understand the basics. I have about 4 large ones growing in the garden. I got the seeds in quite late, just as an experiment. I ate a few young ones, but they were too mild for me. I have a health food store interested in buying some. How much do you charge for one? How many inches long do you make a sponge?

If you know what the store sells them for it is unlikely they would pay you more than half of that price. You can use that as a starting point. Here is an article about Commercial Luffa Production. That should clear up a lot for you. In that article, which was last revised in 2008, then mention sponges (cut sections) should sell for $1-$5. Keeping in mind those prices are retail. They also mention you can get about $0.40 per sponge wholesale. Also if you look online you can see a lot of people sell sponges that are 4" - 5" long.

Thanks for the info. I don't expect her to give me alot of money for them. She's only been in business for a year. I've been trying to just get my foot in the door with her.
