 o
Black/Dark Purple peppers?

Posted by larner08 5 (My Page) on

I planted peppers for the first time this year. I used "pepper seeds"... no type listed. I have now realized that this may have been a mixed bag of types of seeds. Lesson learned.

Anyways, now I have some yellow peppers that look like wax possibly, some green that look like anaheim, some bell peppers and then these that have turned dark. Can you help me? Are these a type of pepper? Are they diseased? It got cold a couple of nights, could it be damaged by frost?

Thank you for any help/advice you may have!

They are perfectly fine. Not sure what the exact variety yours are but there are black/purple peppers.

Purple Beauty and Sweet Chocolate Peppers are dark varieties often included in mixes. Your peppers look like they are doing fine.

Could it be the Purple Bell in the Burpee Canival Mix? The Carnival Mix seeds are commonnly found on seed racks in the spring.

Here is a link that might be useful: Burbee Carnival Mix
