Curb appeal when front door isn't visable

We are looking to begin our front landscaping and are working on hardscape first. We want a pathway to the street (no sidwalks) and I'm having a hard time figuring the best way to draw the eye to the front door when you cant see it. Slightly offset walkway that goes to the front door? Straight shot to the street? Bring it to the corner of the driveway? I appreciate any ideas.

Slush, my suggestion would be a fence along the front of the house with an gap starting just about where that stick (?) is laying and with a 4 to 5 foot opening. Through this opening you could lay a flagstone, paver or other walk of your chosing right to the front steps. Another way to accentuate where the front door is would be to add railings to the porch and place them in line with the path. This way there is no doubt where the front door is. The fence would be a great place to add plantings and you could add beds to the walkway for added curb appeal. then plantings along the fence. Nice trees to anchor the ends of the house, beds along the front, window boxes....the sky is the limit.
