Looking for Ideas on what to plant in a full-sun narrow bed.

Our house came with narrow flower beds (22 inch from front to back) along the Eastern facing (its front) and Western facing (its back) sides. Sadly, concrete sidewalks border the beds so their dimensions are pretty well set for now.

We decided to put in a trellis and experiment with a grapevine in one of the narrow flower beds on the Western facing / hot side (Please see picture). The bed has about 4-5 feet on either side of the grape vine and trellis. I started to mulch the whole bed when it dawned on me that the space could probably use a little more plants without impacting the grapevine.

What would you add to this bedding area?

You could turn that area into strawberry beds. For something taller, Marguerite bushes.
