Landscape Software

Hi...I'm new to the forum and to gardening. I am thinking of using a landscaping design software to help me plan my back yard.

Can you suggest which software would be best?

Below is a link to previous discussions on software.

As a novice, I enjoy Sierra's 3-D LandDesigner. I can take a pic of my property, import the jpg and then design around it.

if you want to try an image editing program without spending a lot of money, canvis software (developed by the national agroforestry center) is free.
i have tried it and find it easy to use. some of the other programs are bound to be more advanced but you can't beat the price of this one in spite of its limitations.

Please remeber that there is no software that will design your project for you. You need the talent and knoiwledge to design your project, the software will not do it for you.

Design software may help draw your design (if you want to call the finished product a drawing) but again design software will not make you a profesional designer or drafter of landscape designs.
