reuse asphalt?

Hi all.

I will be in the process of tearing up a backyards worth of asphalt (tar). We're planning on some square foot gardens and landscaped raised beds with native flowers. But, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to do with the rubble. Is it possible to reuse it in the garden? Has anyone landscaped with asphalt rubble before? I'd hate to see it all go to landfill waste.

Thanks for any help.

RE: reuse asphalt?

Typically, torn up asphalt will get ground up and remade into more asphalt somewhere else (or in the same location, minus potholes). Maybe contact an asphalt contractor to see if they want to haul it away to re-use?
