Help with mulch bed

I would very much like advice on filling my mostly empty and huge mulch bed under my house main window and wrapping around the corner. I'm on a corner lot so this corner is prominent and the window is the entirety of my front since the walkway is immediately to its right followed by a long three car garage. I chose the boxwood and juniper under the window to provide winter evergreen. Now I'd like some more interest and color. I'm a little worried though that the boxwood are too small for this spot?? Appreciate any help!

Also we are redoing the front steps so I'm only planting under the window and corner for now.

How close are those shrubs to the house? It's hard to tell, but they look too close to me. I don't like to do a bush closer than 4 feet, and the upright shrubs should be even further away.

And how close are they to each other?

What's the little tree clear out on the edge of the bed? It looks well-placed. Is that tree the reason for the huge mulched area - so it could be included in the mulch?

I could not agree more that the shrubs are planted too close to the house. You could pull them even farther out than I show below. Also think your bed line could be improved: don't plant to engulf the approach to the entrance; allow more space around the tree so it doesn't end up looking planted smack on the edge; increase depth of bed to allow for re-positioning of shrubs and for their growth. I think you could do below the window with only 2 boxwood ... and something colorful near the entrance.
