Need suggestion for new tree

I lost a Japanese butterfly maple and although I loved it, I don't think I want to try again. I'm looking for a focal point planting to replace it. I'd love something about the same size. I don't want anything taller than the gutter. Looking for flowers/ good fall color, interesting shape and/or bark. I already have a serviceberry, Cornus mas, Black lace elderberry and Diablo ninebark. The spot is at the drip edge of a large maple so it gets sun until noon. I'm in the Chicago area. Any suggestions?

If you're going to say not "taller than the gutter" then you should say how tall that is or provide a picture. We can't see your gutter!
