I just found out that the soil ph of my lawn is 6.4, all over my lawn area -- back, front, sides.
I have recently been taking areas away from being lawn to create garden areas. I've been adding topsoil and some compost. Is this going to change the ph level of the gardens areas? Or should I presume the soil ph will remain the same since the topsoil and compost are still not the majority of what is there. Miss Mary

| Top soil and compost are not likely to change the pH of your soil. The compost may act to stabilize the pH at the current level which is in the good range for most plants. |
