Front Yard Needs Help - See Pics!

This is the front yard. There are 2 sections, the one on the left in front of the fence and the one under the window.

The fence area - the yew is so overgrown and ugly - the only good thing is it hides the 2 metal garbage pails. **What else could we use to screen it? Plants shrubs or ?

The foundation area has pretty stone, but is covered by green bushes. How do I post pics?

We want to replace everything with evergreen shrubs that will NOT need trimming or maintenance but will look great in every season, even in winter.

The home style is Cottage Garden style, so please no formal modern type plantings..... all help is appreciated! We are stuck on these 2 sections!

Most people post pictures by storing them at a photohosting site elsewhere and then linking back to them. Photobucket.com is one such photohosting site, there are others.

If you're trying to post photos from your hard drive or your email, that can't be done. You'll need to post them first somewhere on the Net -- either on your own website or in an account at Photobucket or Flickr or one of the other free photo-hosting sites -- and then copy the link for each photo at that site.
