Mulch, grass, paths?

Need ideas for the bare area, which measures 26 feet long from edge of pond to back of shed x 18 deep from front of garden to start of berm. Considering putting down only mulch and putting in stone/gravel paths or reseeding with grass and using paths. In either case, having trouble envisioning how to place path/paths.
