Good start, but the gravel path will have to stay where it is, though I could modify it slightly for a more gentle curve. Can you give some plant suggestions? The area gets morning sun, afternoon shade, although the left side, which is actually the front corner of the house, gets more sun. The hydrangea does well there. I just noticed the weeping tree off to the left. Any specific recommendations for that? Thanks for your help!

My drawing doesn't purport to do anything with the gravel path. If one plants alongside it, invariably those plants grow sideways and cover the "path." If you don't want it covered, then you would take that into account when you're arranging plants. I'm only trying to show a broad-brush scheme ... providing a path to the hose, where a few shrubs could go and how large they could be, filling the remainder with groundcover-like plants and a tree off to the left. (The Picture wasn't large enough to get more than a piece of it in.) You said you liked weeping cherry, so you could use that there. Besides Hydrangea, shrubs that don't get too large might be Jap. spiraea. Could be annuals nearest the door. The rest of the groundcover-like plants are probably various low growing perennials ... whatever appeals to you for your zone.
