We own an old, 100 yr old craftsman home. While I love everything about my traditional home, I also love the modern, clean lines of contemporary landscaping and fencing. Will it work?

OK, I know the answer is probably yes because, well, it's my home to enjoy. And sometimes juxtaposition works well. I guess I'm just looking for some validation.

Here is a picture of the side of my house where we're adding a large deck. I'd like to add some privacy from my neighbor whose house is also 100 yrs old. (I'll add pics of the styles I like later in the thread)

I'd love to hear any advice. Or if someone has a picture that shows an example of something similar (old, traditional home & modern landscaping), I'd appreciate it. Thank you!
