Drafting Table Question

Hi Everyone,

I'm still a beginner at designing but i finally decided to take a formal Landscape Graphics class at my local community college this fall. I bought a glass drafting table ($170) since I have literally no table space in my shared home--it was the only table offered at my local art supply store. I bought a roll of drafting tape (essentially masking tape) and quickly realized that it DOES NOT STICK to the glass. I traded the drafting tape in for drafting "dots" which are supposed to be stickier. They worked a little better but I still found the corners moving after 20 minutes of drawing.

My question is does anyone have experience with glass drafting tables--or securing designs on glass surfaces? I'm not opposed to trading the table in for a wooden one, although I'd prefer to just find an alternative to the masking tape.

I'd love and appreciate any advice!

This is my first time posting so feel free to call me out if I've done a forum "no-no" :)

Thanks,
Jesse
