Pretty simple though. Decide on the sizes of the terraces and build up the perimeter to make the terrace have about a 1% grade across. The steeper the hill the smaller the terraces or taller the walls. Drainage pattern are the most important to minimize erosion. If you build a rock wall with out mortar, limit your walls to 3 feet with a slight batter on both side of the wall. Aloha
