Help for new garden

Im after ideas for what to use as a hedge along the front of a new property. Wanting something maybe 4foot in height and the block is 40m wide. Allso want to plant some trees on the block (1.25acres) in h1 soil. No idea on anything with gardens so all help is appreciated. New house is in Ipswich, Australia.

You should speak to the criteria the hedge must conform to and what it's accomplishing. Plants work in the landscape but we don't know what their jobs are here. Also, it would be good describe the climate and what h1 soil is.
