Will flowers work in this spot?

If you will look at my picture I have a narrow strip of soil that I would like to plant in. In the back is my new flower garden (set up last year and did very well) - the narrow strip is in front of my house and runs all the way in front of it. I have always planted annuals here and they do very well.

My problem is my flower garden does not get enough sun past the black eyed susans plus do not want them in the front so I thought about moving them to the other area (as well as with some coneflowers).

I have shasta daisies in the flower garden that did horribly because they did not get enough sun. the front of my house gets six hours of sun each day.

do you think this area is wide enough for the BES and other perennials? Thanks so much!!
