Andrea, Have you been waiting long for a trade to come through from her?
Just curious...Is she from California too? I see she joined June 1st, and doesn't even have a state listed...something I think everyone should do, along with posting their zone.
I for one prefer to trade with folks closer to me, for things that are hardy to my zone. Saves on shipping too.
If I get scammed, I might just take a road trip vacation in that direction...lol
Sue, it was a nightmare. I ended up threatening mail fraud charges after multiple outrageous lies and then she sent a totally molded super small hosta via regular mail. You should see the pic of it. Ridiculous. I made out better than someone else I know who traded w/ her though. She never got anything at all and sent plants that cost almost 15.00 in postage alone (not to mention the plant value!).
The beauty of the moldy hosta is this: I rinsed it in super hot water and planted it anyway (no leaves..bit of crown and a few blue moldy roots). After a couple of weeks, I looked at it and it had a leaf!!!! Now it has about 6 leaves and is actually growing! I have no idea what variety it is (definitely not Big Daddy, as advertised) but it will forever stay in my garden for its resilience! :)
Hey Ladies, I think her address was in West Virginia. I'll have to look around to find where I sent the trade. Her name is Kaitlin Ellison. Shame Shame on her. I haven't heard a word from her for all my e-mails.
Yes, her address is in West Virginia. I have it if anyone needs it.
Andrea, have you decided on a name for that hosta yet? I still think Kaitlin and Stacie or Kailtin's Devil hosta...since when it first decided to sprout leaves it looked like devil horns. Do you still have the emails she sent? I do! You would not believe the emails....she had quite the stories.
Ha!!! How about 'Kaitlin's Diablo'? That's a great idea! Yes, I still have the emails and they were UNREAL. Drama upon drama. I love it when someone is stiffing you on a trade but then writes stuff to try to make YOU feel guilty for contacting them to ask where your stuff is.
