Nancy, probably a lot of your neighbors grow Plumeria - just knock on their door and ask for a cutting.

Plumeria are expensive plants, and Aloe vera and Canna roots would not be an equal trade.

Thank you. As I said I am pretty new to the trading thing. I'll learn as I go I suppose

Most of us started out offering Marigold seeds for expensive plants, so yes - you learn as you go.

I visited Miami, several years ago, and was smitten with the Plumeria trees I saw in peoples' yards. I was brazen and knocked on the doors, asked for cuttings and was give a suitcase full of cuttings! I also found some in the yard waste piles in front of peoples' homes, so just get out and drive around.

You learn, once you are addicted to plants, to always carry paper towels, garden shears and baggies with you at all times. You will be able to gather cuttings and seeds whenever you find them and get permission!
