Ace Hardware carries them, as does just about any farm and garden center. Walmart has some in their stores right now.

Any one tried gurney's whopper strawberry/? I have some honeyeye, which I love bought locally, and a noid type, which bears small tasty berries.

I tried gurney's whopper strawberry last year. Grew well but insects was a big problem.

Here are the majority of the mail-order sources, with decent reputations, for strawberries. I've left off the ones with poorer ratings. If you do want to review them too, they can be found on the list linked below.

Bob Wells Nursery - very good G.WD. rating - www.bobwellsnursery.com

Cloud Mountain Farm - excellent G.WD. rating - www.cloudmountainfarm.com

Edible Landscaping - good G.WD. rating - www.ediblelandscaping.com

Hartmann's Plant Company - excellent G.WD. rating - www.hartmannsplantcompany.com

Indiana Berry & Plant Co. - excellent G.WD. rating - indianaberry.com

Johnson Nursery, Inc. - excellent G.WD. rating - www.johnsonnursery.com

Krohne Plant Farms Inc. - limited, excellent G.WD. rating - www.krohneplantfarms.com

Nourse Farms Inc. - excellent G.WD. rating - www.noursefarms.com

Peaceful Valley Farm Supply - good G.WD. rating - www.groworganic.com

Raintree Nursery - good G.WD. rating - www.raintreenursery.com

Simmons Plant Farm - excellent G.WD. rating - www.simmonsplantfarm.com

PS...You might want to look at Gurney's reviews before buying from them. They have absolutely dismal ratings on most review sites.

I am in the BnP plant co-op and one of the co-ops that is currently running has strawberries. We get stuff at wholesale prices.

Fragaria Fort Laramie - everbearing, hardy zones 3-7 $0.15 each
Fragaria Ozark Beauty - everbearing, hardy zones 4/7 $0.20 each
Fragaria Allstar - June Bearing, hardy 4/8, $0.20 each
Fragaria Red Chief hardy 3/9, $0.20 each

GW blocks y@h00 links so just do a search online for BnP Co-op Buying and you will find it. Woodthrush here on GW is one of the ladies that runs it.
