i agree!! i never did understand that!! they call it exchanges but when you get to the pages its discussion. great point!!! :'))

I agree with corgi, maybe it's not a big deal, but it is deceiving. I never understood why they called it discussions either.

I've taken it to mean that it's for discussing exchanges since the forum is titled "Plant Exchange".

I agree Karyn, it's discussion about exchanging. And the conversation is misc conversation among the exchangers.
Like the Hosta Forum has a discussion page about hostas, an exchange page for hosta, and a conversation for misc conversation other than hosta.

I think it is confusing myself.

The Daylily and Hosta Forums (and likely some others) have Discussion, Conversation, and Exchange

The Alliums, Bulb and Iris (and likely some others) have Discussion, and Exchange

It seems natural to me that the Seed and Plant Exchange Forums should have an 'actual' Exchange page. I kinda 'feel' for folks when they post non trade posts on the 'Discussion' side here...discussing trades, trade issues, trade pages, etc, and then because it is not an actual trade it sometimes gets moved to the Conversation side...as this one likely 'might' be.

Could it be that it is 6 of one and half a dozen of another? I remember when I first joined...clicking back and forth between Discussion, and Conversion...scratching my head...b4 reading the thread subject lines on the discussion side, and then deducing that it was the side for Exchanges.

I thought I replied to this thread b4...suggesting that it be suggested at the link below so there would be a better record of the interest in possibly getting it changed...as opposed to a bunch of separate emails to management/powers that be.

I'm a bit slow about 'some' things. I had a bit of a hard time understanding (on topic) Discussions and (off topic) Conversations at the Hot Topic Forum. Finally gwtamara posted that the Conversation side there was for 'fluffy' non debatable stuff.

Back when there was no choice but to opt for HAVE or WANTED (have no idea why they took that out) I think there was less confusion. Since I was here before the change I don't see it as a big deal but I can easily see where it might be a problem for those whao are just learning to navigate the boards and trying hard not to break the muddy rules.

Yes...I think the Have or Wanted thingy broke a while back. I reported it I think...via the Contact link.

Hope they get it fixed...and soon.
