RE: Have phlox

I would love to have some Shortwood and
David's Lavender if there is anything on my list you would like to have :)

Hugs, April

RE: Have phlox

Thanks, April, nothing I can use right now. FYI Knock Out Roses and lilac Boomerang are patented plants and you cannot propagate them to trade or give away.

RE: Have phlox

I have never really understood the patented thing very well. The Boomerang Lilac had suckers coming out of it and I just pulled them off and stuck them in a pot. Does that count as propogating?

RE: Have phlox

Oh, and what are the rules for trademarked plants while I'm asking? :)

 o
RE: Have phlox

Plants that are patented mean the grow has exclusive rights for sales, retail and/or wholesale. They may grant the rights
to TC labs for propagation, but the labs pay a royalty fee.
Unauthorized propagation would be considered stealing sales from them. Now, no plant police are going to show up at your door if you root cuttings from a plant you purchased for yourself and keep to yourself. But posting in an open forum like this that you are offering rooted cuttings from these patented plants might
catch someone's eye. Say, some retailer who has purchased Knock Out Roses and paid the royalties see someone else saying they have rooted cuttings from these roses and is
po'd about it. They could report you.
If you are just building your collection, and wanted to offer rooted cuttings, look for plants that are not patented.

 o
Thanks!

Thanks for clearing that up for me :)

Hugs,April

Website?

Is there a website out there that lists what plants are patented that I could refer to?
