Wanted : Jewel Weed

I am really in need of this plant.. I have a family of people severely allergic to the poison ivy plants, and I have heard this is a great remedy, so I'd like to grow it. The scientific name I believe is Impatiens capensis .
Would like to trade for other plants as well to make a full box for shipping.

I have this plant but it will not survive shipping. I will be glad to get you seeds later if interested. plantbug

That would be wonderful, thank you !

This grows wild everywhere around here, but it has NEVER survived transplanting for me. Heck, I can't even get the seeds to germinate!

I'll see if I can find some little guys to add to our trade since we are arranging something anyway....the heat we are having is not going to help, that is for sure. But, since I am sending you a box no harm done if they don't transplant.

Sorry I don't have any jewelweed but thought I'd give my input after I saw that someone commented that it won't transplant well. I don't know if this would work for every plant but sometimes when I dig a certain kind of plant up that really wilts a lot right after I dig it out, I find it perks up after a few days if I plant it in potting soil and water it before I mail it in a few days. I thought maybe this would work for something like jewelweed and that it would transplant easier.

I've never tried mailing it---just digging it on the side of the road and taking it HOME, LOL!

You should be able to find this plant in your area. Just look around low areas next to creeks or rivers. it grows around stinging nettle and is a cure for the sting too.

I actually am very familiar with the plant and where to find . We are avid hikers and campers, so unfortunately I am familiar with Stinging Nettle too lol.
It is just not in bloom yet here, and I dont' know how to recognize it just by the leaves.
