HAVE: Apology / Passiflora cutting trade

APOLOGY to anyone I traded cuttings of Passiflora foetida Corona de Cristo to. It finally bloomed and is NOT Passiflora foetida.
It appears to be just a common passiflora variety.
I did tell everyone before trade where I bought it, and that it had not bloomed for me yet.
I bought it at a very reputable (supposedly) Texas Native nursery.
I'm very disappointed that it is not what it was supposed to be.
I sent them an email about it and never got a response.

Any chance you could post a pic? I thought mine died, but it surprised me and popped back up and is growing well.

Now that I think about it, the leaves do look a lot like incarnata. Did your flower smell good?

Oh---and was it you I got the 'Naughty Nick' brug cuttings from?

Probably. I do have Naughty Nick and traded cuttings to several people.
I didn't check to see it the passiflora flower was fragrant.
It's only had one bloom so far.

You sent me two cuttings of the Naughty Nick, and I was SO excited---until they died. They were going good, I thought, and then in March they just turned up their toes and died. Is this a difficult one to root?

I'm not sure. I traded for various brug cuttings from someone in the fall of 2011 and NN is one of only a couple that did live and root for me. I haven't tried to root a cutting from it yet. It also hasn't bloomed yet. It's growing pretty good so far this year, so I should be able to take more cuttings in the fall.
