I did post this elsewhere, but no one has responded. I would like to update my echange list. How can i tell if what i want is patented or trademarked. I believe the rules state we cannot echange these plants? Do i have this interperated correctly? Thanks.

The easiest way is to google the plant name. If you can find it for sale on a retail site, they will indicate there if it is a patented plant. If you just want, say a hydrangea, some one will probably have cuttings or rooted cuttings for trade of named, but not patented varieties, but if you have say, hydrangea Incrediball, PPAF, that is a trademark variety.

Thank you. That was very helpfull. I suspected that it had something to do with ppaf markings. Unfortunately, most of what I want is ppaf! LOL
