WANTED: Warning about Kwanso daylily

Pat

I'm sorry. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings here, but I see Kwanso being offered without a warning and it makes me cringe.

This is a beautiful daylily which can be used in certain groundcover or pot growing situations very succesfully. However, you need to be aware that it is HIGHLY invasive. Once you have it, it is nearly impossible to get rid of it. Any smallest piece of rhizome left behind will eventually grow into another plant.

I have been digging it out of my garden beds here for probably 15-20 years and I doubt I will ever be rid of it unless I turn the beds back to grass - maybe not even then.

Please, just be aware before trading of the plants that might become invasive in your area. Please do a google search for invasive plants in your state.

If you know you have something to trade that spreads in your garden and seems difficult to eliminate, please offer it with a warning.
