I have several Mexican Flame vines (Senecio confusus). I'm looking for hardy aristolochias and Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis) but am open to offers of other plants.

Hi Karyn, I would love to trade an aristolochia gigantea or fimbriata for 1 of your Mexican flame vines. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks, linda |

Hey Karyn, I've just got a question! Does the Mexican Flame vine overwinter for you in your zone 7a? I always thought it would be treated like an annual for me but this gives me hope! :) Thanks, Wendy

No it's very cold sensitive. I have to take it into the greenhouse. I've never had seeds from it, at least nothing that looks like a viable seed and I have more then 1 variety so they could cross pollinate. What's at the base of the fluff after the bloom is spent is so flat and tiny. It doesn't appear viable and I have attempted to sow what's there with no luck. Linda I'd love to trade for the A. gigantea. I have no idea why I'm having such a hard time finding hardy aristolochias? I'll send you an email.

Bummer, unfortunately the ridiculous Texas drought ravished a lot of my exotic trade plants this year. The tap water is over chlorinated, I can't keep up with buying bottled spring water and my husband is beginning to question my sanity over bottle water feeding the plants ;) I did have one question though, do you know if they produce seeds and do you of a possible supplier/seed shop??

karyn, Don't know if you've made a trade yet, but I have A tomentosa plants that I can trade for some of your plants. I also have buttonbush seeds. Email me at butterflymombixby at y-hoo dot com. The tomentosa plants do well in the mail. Sandy
