WANTED: Christmas fern -- in-person trade near Longwood Gardens

Anyone living in this area interested in an in-person trade, either this week or next, or in the spring? I'm looking for Christmas fern.

I have seedlings of Helleborus orientalis, seedlings of Helleborus foetidis, lots of Myosotis, lots of Lobelia syphliticia, one potted Phlox 'David', Nepeta mussini, lamb's ear, Chrysanthemums, one nice-sized Amsonia, Iris fulva, Iris cristata, various ornamental grasses, a few pots of Cimicifuga racemosa, maybe Eupatorium 'Purple Bush' (have to check), Agastache 'Honey Bee Blue'... the list goes on....

RE: WANTED: Christmas fern -- in-person trade near Longwood Garde

Hi! Where in PA are you? I am in NY, about an hour from Port Jervis and I'm over that way periodically. I have lots n lots of Christmas ferns growing wild on the rogue overgrown 2 acres of a home we purchased this spring. I'd planned to move the xmas ferns up near the house to save them from horse feet when we fence off the back acres. If you're interested and we can tackle geography, I'd be interested in your 'David', grasses, cimicifuga, myositis, etc. I'll google Longwood Gardens to see where it is before I get carried away....

re: wanted: christmas fern -- ps

We're pretty far apart unfortunately but I'll keep your request for ferns in mind if Im travelling in the Philly area in the near future. Occ we make a daytrip to Hamburg, PA, for my husband's business so that may be an option, too.

One add'l thought I had: you might be able to find Christmas "fern-ettes" at a local Lowes -- I've seen a few different Lowes stores selling dormant nubs of all kinds of ferns incl. xmas in little cellophane 3"x3" packets on a display in their houseplants section. I was skeptical about the viability but danged if the ferns didn't do well once potted up. I have several nice Maidenhairs, Spleenworts, Royals, Cinnamons, etc sprouted. That may be an option for you, too, if you can't find anyone to trade with.
