I'm pruning my grape vine this weekend and will have a good deal of cuttings to share. I planted my grapes two years ago and got a good deal of fruit this summer (in spite of the birds taking a good share). It made the most wonderful wild grape jelly. Some say the fruit is inedible, but that was certainly not the case here. Maybe if you have a very short growing season, but with our long, hot Texas summers, I harvested my fruit in July. The fruit was small, but the vine abundantly produced many small clusters or almost black fruit. The fruit was very sweet and tangy with yummy wild grape taste. I hope to start some more vines from my cuttings and eventually have a large enough harvest to make wine. It is a very pretty grape vine with dark green leaves during summer that slowly change to purple or maroon in fall. If you are interested, please let me know. I just hate to throw them away. The pic is for reference only and not my plant.
