WANTED: Ficus Benjamina (Weeping Fig) cuttings

Posted by Indiana.Matt 6a Indiana (My Page) on

Does anyone have some Ficus Benjamina (Weeping Fig) cuttings they could send me for postage? I would like to try to root some. Or if you have any that have already been rooted, that would be great too.

I don't know when the best time of year to root Ficus is, if I need to wait until summer, let me know.

Thanks,

Indiana.Matt

RE: WANTED: Ficus Benjamina (Weeping Fig) cuttings

Hi Matthew
I have a ficus tree, I need to wait an see if it is okay, I was S...L...O...W getting it inside so I need to see how it is going to do or if I KILLED it.
I just had my son bring it in today (it was too heavy for me)and we have had some very cold weather, even snow flurries one day. The tree is against a window and under the porch so I'm hoping the heat from the window and the roof of the porch kept it warm enough not to do much damage.
I'll let you know

Sharon,

Thanks for letting me know. Sorry I didn't get back with you sooner, my hard drive died and I just got my computer back. I would think we should wait until spring anyway. I would be concerned that the cuttings would freeze in the mail. Let me know how it does and maybe we can set something up in the spring.
