| Found a wild vine growing at the back of the property. I am in zone 8 central LA. I has small, yellow, trumpet-shaped, 1 inch long, blooms and it has leaves that are about 2 inches long, about a 1/4 inch wide and it has a point at the end of it. It's not honeysuckle, which is not in bloom yet here, so I am stumped as to what it could be. It did not have scent to.? I don't have a pic yet. Hoping someone knows what this vine is.
Best to you and thanks,

| it sounds like Gelsemium rankinii, swamp jessamine. If it was fragrant, I would have guessed the much more common Gelsemium sempervirens, Carolina Jessamine. They look nearly identical, but one is fragrant and the other is not. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Gelsemium rankinii, swamp jessamine

| Thank you bunches. :-) It had no noticeable scent and I went to the link you posted. It looks like the swamp jessamine. I tranplanted 4 cuttings to a flowerbed near a tree closer to the house so I am hoping it roots easily. I put a metal rod in the ground for it to grow on that's about 3.5 ft above ground. Best to you and many thanks, |

| You're very welcome, quiltingfox. -I hope your cuttings take and do well for you. It would be lovely to have such a nice, uncommon native plant in the garden! |
