I also set mine up in place of a website on my profile page. Might not be the use that was intended for it, but it's there. And I think I actually put it at the top of my trade list. I noticed several people have done this along with trading instructions. Myself, I adore gardening and want to make it as easy for others as possible to reach me!

Yeah it bugs me too -:) I like to reply right from my email when I post a trade or SASBE. I don't always have time to go back to the thread to look someone up and email them through GW. I don't want someone to think I am ignoring them. I'm not I just can't find them!! âº

sheesh...about 7 more seen today...both new and older members. I kind of think that the links on some of the older members might have disappeared at some time due to a GW glitch.

Glad I'm not actively trading much these days. It would bug the crap outta me....but it really in no one's fault.

Very frustrating to see a post where a member offers something I would love to swap for, only to discover there is no way to contact them or I may have something they want but no way to contact them. Have had people to say they are afraid of SPAM...I don't believe any of the spam I get comes from GW (think it comes from Gmail but that is another story).

I will not even trade with anyone who you can't reach, who doesn't have a trade list up, etc. ( unless it's somebody I know and have traded with before )OR ( and this may sound harsh), those that join and the same day they join come in asking for a long list of things and offering to 'take these plants off my hands' for postage. Had a few people do this recently, and I thought...what...are my plants bothering me and I should be grateful for somebody to take them off my hands ? LOLOL

I will be fixing my account so that my email does show up. I have been learning so much from this site in the last couple of days.

Could I ask one more thing maybe? Would you mind adding in your state abbreviation along side of your zone in the one box provided for the zone

As you can see above...everyone has a location listed...If you ever advance to any kind of plant, bulb, rhizome, leaf, cutting trading (and you might), some members (me usually)will not respond to a trade post if they (me) are clueless about a location. It is a postage/temp/days in shipping thing I consider when doing those kinds of trades?

lilyrose has been having computer issues. I haven't heard from her in a while. She said many folks responded to her (huge) sase offer, and there was no way to email them...sigh.

I fear she may not even be on line, and was tempted to post to her thread and attempt to either get it stopped, or try and let some members know they have no email link, thus are unreachable.....sigh...but I really hate to butt in...so in the interim, I'll just bump this back up and hope it helps someone be aware they have no email link...sigh

Well, I am still one of those without my personal e-mail addy listed on my member page, but can have e-mail sent to me through GW.

In the past, I have had my addy listed and have had serious problems with spam mail that comes from other forums on GW.

Since I post on quite a few of the other forums on GW, I found that some of them do have their fair share of spam type posts; advertising for various websites, products etc.

When my e-mail addy was available for anyone to see, these posts would pop up on these other GW forums and within an hour or so I would have the spam coming to my e-mail box about the product, site etc.

Once I realized where all this spam was coming from, I removed my addy from my member page, and that was the end of the spam coming from here.

Hope you all understand why I no longer have my e-mail addy available to see, but as I said, you can send it through GW and I would say that 95% of the time I don't have a problem getting it.

I understand Fran (though I have had no 'real' problems in 4 years). I imagine if you post to someone's thread, that you additionally email the OP as well. I do that myself a good bit, as often I don't want to list something maybe considered 'quite special' in a thread as it is limited and only 'offered' for something else quite special to me.

I found out the hard way a long time back, that by offering some quite special heirloom seeds on a thread reply, I started getting some 'cold' emails for the seeds.
