The Cotton Experiment

Okay, sad to say, the cotton experiment here in Northern Michigan is over before it really began. After gathering many seeds, I started some growing in the house, and then I took the rest and planted them after sprouting them up. I conditioned the seedlings before I planted them, and the cotton sprouts, this past Sunday. All are dead.

My end conclusions? Cotton cannot take the temperature changes here in Northern Michigan. Some plants aren't meant to go from 40s at night to 80s during the day, and apparently, cotton is one of them.

My next experiment? I'm gonna try to get Vic to send me some tumbleweed seed and attempt to grow that next summer.

"playing taps"..oh cotton, he knew ye well.....

but isn't that the fun part, finding out what grows and what doesn't?...I think you want the tumbleweed seeds so they blow across the street to your neighbor..."L"
