My Hibiscus Trionum l is only producing seed pods

I have a hibiscus Trionum l, I hope I'm spelling it correctly, that has only bloomed once. It has lots of buds on it, but it never blooms and the pods produce seeds. I've never seen anything like it. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Maybe I've got a freak plant! lol, anyway I'm saving the seeds and I hope they're viable. Thanks for any info anyone can offer. Thanks, Joel.

Your plant's not a freak, lol. The common name is "Flower of the Hour" because the bloom is only open for a very short time. In very hot weather, it may be a matter of minutes only. Unless you pull up a chair, it would be easy to miss it.
