Echinacea tennesseensis delisted

I was watching the local news here in Nashville a few days ago and they reported that the Tennessee Purple Coneflower (Echinacea tennesseensis) will be removed from the endangered species list.
I was looking a mine the other day thinking I need to collect the seed from them before the gold finches finish them off.
I'm glad the plant was delisted, now anyone can trade the seed leagally. It has always been a federal offense to sell or trade plants or seed unless you had a permit.

It's always nice to hear when a species, flora or fauna, is removed from the endangered species list. It's just too bad that we ultimately lose more then are restored to healthy populations : (

Does anyone know if trading seeds from endangered species cultivated in private gardens is exempt from penalty under federal law?

The last time I checked with the fish and wildlife people it was not legal. It was legal to give them to someone as a gift.
