| I have all colors of zinnia and I want to know if I collect seeds of each color and plant them next year, will they produce the same color. Can I offer red zinnia seeds to trade and they will actually be red when they flower?
Thanks, Spiderpig |

| Hi! I collected my Zinnia seeds separately last year, some did come true but for the most part they are pink. My Purple Prince that was all on it's own way away from the others came true each time, but several others that were planted amongst eachother were mostly not true. I did have a couple true ones pop up here and there and a couple of neat mutants that came out of it. My Highlight did come true but it is different than the taller varieties. I have also received open pollinated pink Profussion that came true also.Regardless they are pretty, but I guess if you want to use them for trade it would be best to be sure they are marked and represented as open pollinated. Good Luck and I hope I was of some help! Happy Gardening!:) Angie |
