| How long can you keep gourd seed? I have some that I saved from dried grouds a couple of years ago. They still look good. But I would hate to offer them for trade not knowing.
Can anyone help? Dorothy |

| According to Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service, they are good for 4 to 5 years if stored properly. This means keeping them in a dark, dry place that isn't too hot. If you're trading seed outside of the current year, just let the trader know. They can then make their own decisions. I list the year the seed was collected or, if it's commercial, what year it was packaged for. You'll find some traders that really don't care what year the seed is (within limits) and others that are very picky. So far, I've done a bunch of trading of both new and older seeds, so it's certainly worth a shot! Blessings, |
