FAQ Seed Exchange Outline-looking for input

I volunteered to rework the FAQ here some time ago, and got sidetracked with life, gardening and daffodils.

Anyway, I have put together an outline of questions, sort of in the order I would list them in the FAQ.

You should be able to see the outline at the link below.

I welcome your valuable input and will do my best at putting them together, covering the most crucial info, in a logical order, that is easy to read and understand. Maybe I am overthinking this already. I don't want anyone new (or old for that matter) to glaze over while reading an FAQ answer, so I'll try to be as brief as possible. Can I do it?

I have looked over some other threads covering most frequently and newbie question threads and will be scouring them for more info.

Last, but not least...once the FAQ are finished and input, they are not set into concrete, and can be changed and added to as the need arises.

So...let the suggestions begin. I'm going to bump up a couple of other threads also.

Sue

I found google document to be less that user friendly. If you want to paste your outline here I'll help if I can.

Here ya go. Is that better? I copied the Outline into one of the existing FAQ slots. Once the Outline is fairly complete, one by one the FAQ will be covered here for the best reply, trying to keep things as brief as possible.

Well I've only been trading since 2006 but this was what I came up with.

2 - (a) Setting Up Your GW Profile:
(1) Tell Members about your garden. [Your suggestion.]
(2) Make sure you have listed an e-mail address in your profile.
(b) Trade Page:
(1) Date it - Usually at the top of the seeds you have for trade section, add a line that says the last time you updated the information.
(2) Seed source - If you can anotate where you received the seed from i.e. (C) commercial, (G) garden, or (T) trade.

5 - This is just FYI - My seed packets contain the following information plant name, annual/perennial/biennial, USDA Zone, Number of seeds, Light, Soil, Height, (bloom time and color if there is room), my screen name and the year of harvest.

7 - Some seeds must be fresh to be viable while some can be decades old and still be viable. If you are trading for seeds that do not remain viable for long discuss their freshness with the other person when you negotiate the trade.

9 - Here is what I do. If the seeds are flat and I only have one or two packets I send them inside a greeting card. If I am sending several seed packets or seeds that are not flat I use bubble wrap, either a padded envelope or padding inside an envelope.

10 - I take used bubble envelopes cut them to the size I want and reuse them. Just remember all information and postage on the old envelope needs to be blacked out. Frequently I put an address label over the old address or whatever may be in that area of the envelope so there isn't any confusion.

I hope something here helps.

Thanks tk. I added your suggestions into the outline, or most of them anyway. Each FAQ will then be posted here for input for the final wording on them before actually being input to the FAQ.

I appreciate your input.

Bumping this up for more input.

The link below is the FAQ Outline that is the last question in the existing FAQ here.

Does anyone else have any additional input?

Bumping up yet again, looking for more input. I am determined to get work done on the FAQ this winter and have them input before spring.

Please see the link below and offer any and all suggestions. The FAQ can be an ongoing sort of thing, being made clearer, or being added to as time goes by.
